About the job
Key responsibilities:
- Typeset research papers, journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings using \(\rm\sf \LaTeX\).
- Convert manuscripts to \(\rm\sf \LaTeX\) where required.
- Prepare manuscripts according to journal-specific \(\rm\sf \LaTeX\) templates and formatting guidelines.
- Manage \(\rm\sf Bib\TeX/Bib\LaTeX\) references and check citation formatting.
- Ensure proper placement and formatting of figures, tables, equations, captions, and cross-references.
- Prepare high-quality, print-ready and publication-ready PDF files.
- Check manuscripts carefully for typographical, formatting, and typesetting errors.
- Incorporate corrections received from authors, editors, and referees.
- Coordinate with the editorial team to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Maintain consistency in fonts, styles, headings, references, equations, and page layout.
Skill(s) required: Core proficiency in \(\rm\sf \LaTeX\) syntax, math and science notation, reference management, and document design.
Other requirements
- Candidates with experience in journal publishing, academic publishing, scientific typesetting, or working at a publishing house will be preferred.
- Experience with XML/HTML production or journal production workflows will be an added advantage.
Probation Duration: 3 months (only for freshers)
Experienced and expert candidates will be exempted from the probation period and may be appointed directly to a confirmed position.
