Special Issues

From time to time, the Communications in Mathematics and Applications will consider publishing special issues on current topics of interest. Some special issues may also be dedicated to the publications of the proceedings of the international conference(s) on specialized topics. The publication committee responsible to look after the publication of the proceedings will get the papers(s) refereed by at least one referee. The material intended for publication may be sent to ''RGN Publications'' suggesting also the name(s) of the person(s) who will act as editor(s) of the special issue.

Special issue proposals in the format of a single PDF document, are required to be submitted by e-mail to  comm.math.appl@gmail.com. Please include in the subject line 'CMA Special Issue Proposal'. The primary guidelines for the publication of a special issue of an international conference are given below.

Primary Guidelines for Special Issue Publication (International Conference)

  1. Eligibility
    • The special issue proposal must originate from an international conference organized by a recognized academic or research institution.
    • The conference should have international participation from at least 3 or more countries.
    • The conference website must be hosted under the official domain of the institute or university.
  2. Submission Requirements
    • The minimum number of papers required for a special issue is usually 15–18 peer-reviewed articles.
    • A maximum of 20-25 papers may be considered in one issue, depending on journal policy.
    • Each paper must be an extended and substantially revised version of the paper presented at the conference.
  3. Authorship Diversity
    • At least one-third of the papers must be authored or co-authored by participants from outside the host country to justify the international nature of the conference.
    • Multiple papers from the same institution or author are not encouraged.
  4. Peer Review
    • First round of peer-review will be conducted by the guest editors appointed by the conference organizers .
    • Second round of peer-review will be conducted by the Editors of the journal.
    • All submissions must undergo the journal’s standard double-blind peer review process.
    • Conference reviewers’ comments may be considered as supplementary, but final acceptance rests with the journal’s editorial board. (Also see heading "Publication Decision")
  5. Editorial Responsibility
    • Coordinating the review process
    • Ensuring ethical and academic standards
    • Submitting a summary report after completion, along with copies of the plagiarism reports
    • The conference must nominate Guest Editors (preferably 2–3; at least 1-2 editors should be from countries other than the host country) responsible for conducting the first round of peer review, ensuring the quality and originality of the submitted articles, coordinating revisions with authors, and selecting the papers for the special issue.
    • Guest Editors are subject to approval by the Editor(s) of the journal.
  6. Ethical Standards
    • Submissions must adhere to the journal’s publication ethics (e.g., COPE guidelines).
    • Plagiarism must be below the journal’s threshold (typically <10–15%).
    • No duplicate or simultaneous submission is permitted.
  7. Documentation
  8. The conference organizer must provide:
    • Details of the conference program (including keynote speakers and international participants)
    • List of all submitted and selected papers
    • Review process summary
    • Declaration that all papers are original and not published elsewhere
  9. Deadlines
    • The proposal for a special issue should be submitted at least 3 months before the conference date.
    • All revised and reviewed papers should be submitted within 2–3 months after the conference.
  10. Publication Decision
    • Final decision on acceptance of the special issue lies with the Editors of the Journal and the Publisher.
    • The journal reserves the right to accept only selected articles instead of the entire issue if the submissions do not meet quality standards.
  11. Fees and Access
    • Publication fees (if applicable) will follow the journal’s policy.
    • Special issues may be published as open access or subscription-based, depending on the agreement.
